"No one is saying it but Im wondering if there is a rift within Radiohead itself. There was a comment Jonny made before the release of the album, where he couldnt give many details because he was the “irritating lazy child who’s not involved in the bigger picture”. Sounds like he wasn’t working well with Thom, and now we get to hear an album where Jonny is barely featured. Not to mention an album that sounds far more like Thoms solo work than Radiohead. To me its not an album with a defining theme or overall sound or production qualities that bind all the songs together - as is the case in every previous RH album. There is a clear disconnect between the first half of the album and the second. With tracks 1 to 4 clearly sounding Thom-esque. Tracks 5-8 show some radiohead breaking through the Thom influence. It seriously reminds me of the The Final Cut. It has pink floyd on the cover, but no one could seriously think of it as anything other than a Roger solo album. It showed what a band with inner turmoil sounds like, being driven by one individual. My bet is the same is happening to Radiohead. Wonder if there will ever be a post-Thom era."
